Good news for RTC commuters in Hyderabad, very soon the iconic double-decker buses will ply the roads of Hyderabad. Passengers will be served by electric double-decker buses this time.
The city of Hyderabad is not just Charminar, Golconda and Hussain Sagar . Also remembered are double-decker buses. The memories of traveling in double-decker buses still linger among those who were born in the 1990s. A long-time demand has been made for double-decker buses to return to Hyderabad’s streets.
In Hyderabad, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has begun operating double-decker buses again. Electric double-decker buses will be available, Plans are being made to run these on rent. 10 e-double decker buses will be hired and run on three different routes in the city.
The RTC officials have already conducted a study on which route to run the e-double decker buses. It is known that there are many flyovers in Hyderabad. E-double decker buses are likely to ply on the same route which is free of flyovers. As of now, three routes have been finalized. E-double decker buses are likely to ply on Patancheruvu-Koti, Jeedimetla-CBS, Afzalgunj-Mehdipatnam route.
