Fresh air is fast becoming a valuable commodity. Rapid expansion of the concrete jungle is resulting in the decline of nature’s beauty. In such a situation, parks give you a break from pollution, noise and dirt. They give you a glimpse of nature and a whiff of fresh air. One such park is the Sanjeevaiah Park, which has a serene atmosphere. Just the right place for relaxing and enjoying.

The Sanjeevaiah Park, located on the other side of the Tankbund near Begumpet is dotted with eucalyptus and coconut trees. Surrounded by Hussain Sagar lake on three sides, the Sanjeevaiah park attracts people of all ages.

Sanjeevaiah Park also houses a Science Park. With massive, life-like replicas of dinosaurs, the Science Park has become a major attraction for school children. Batches of enthusiastic students are often found here, trying to learn more about the extinct species. The lush green lawns and play equipment makes children’s visit enjoyable.

Sanjeevaiah Park

Sanjeevaiah Park is thronged by people particularly on Sundays and holidays. “People come here with their children and stay for a long time,” says a gardener of the park.

One of the biggest parks in twin cities, the foundation stone of the Sanjeevaiah Park was laid in 1977 by Jalagam Vengal Rao, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. It was inaugurated in 1982 by the then Chief Minister N T Rama Rao.

The 104-acre park also has a rock garden, a rose garden, a floor clock, a nursery and the samadhi of late Damodaram Sanjeevaiah, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
