NTR Gardens is an urban park adjacent to Hussain Sagar lake in Hyderabad that was built in the memory of the popular chief minister late Shri N T Rama Rao. NTR memorial gardens is spread across 36 acres and it was constructed in several phases that started in 1999. This garden is deemed as one of the most expensive gardens in India which is developed by the state government with a huge capital of around 40 crores. The NTR memorial was a part of the Buddha Purnima Project that was being handled by HUDA. The garden is built with a balance between serene natural beauty and lots of entertainment options. Along with a lot of entertaining activities, the garden has been created in such a way that it offers breathtaking natural surroundings. The major attractions of NTR Gardens include Desert Garden, Japanese Garden, and Roaring Cascade. It also has amazing in-house souvenir shops. Excellent facilities for food are also provided in the garden. Various eat out joints, car cafe and fruit restaurant which is a 2000-square-meter restaurant circumvented by three petal-shaped ponds offer not just mouth-watering dishes but also a beautiful setting to relish the same. The Car Cafes are primarily cafes with a seating capacity of six and which are mobile. This offers visitors unique cafe experiences. One can find the installed statues of insects such as grasshopper, beetle and butterfly. There is even a giant fruit bowl in which you can go inside and come out.

Without having to walk much, a mini-train on a single track takes the visitors all around the garden and helps to catch a glimpse of the beautiful gardens. Along with the toy train, there is a wide array of recreational facilities at the NTR Garden. One of the latest additions to the NTR garden is the Desert Garden, designed by Mr. Nitish Roy. This particular garden has about 150 plant varieties, mainly of those plans which are commonly referred to as desert plants such as cacti, succulents, etc. You can even find some plants with medicinal importance. Another amazing attraction is a multi-storeyed Machan Restaurant which is built in the shape of a tree.

NTR Gardens can be visited at any time of the year, but the gardens look much more appealing and beautiful during the winter months from October to February. During this time, the garden offers visitors an inviting sight to capture with lush greenery and colorful flowers. The other famous landmarks near the NTR Gardens include Hussain Sagar Lake, Lumbini Park, Prasads IMAX, Secretariat, Tank Bund and Necklace Road. The NTR Gardens timings are from 2:30 PM to 8:30 PM on all days of the week. On Sundays and holidays, the timings are from  12:30 PM to 8:30 PM. As the garden is centrally located, it is easily accessible through all modes of transport. The nearest metro stations to NTR Gardens are Khairatabad and Lakdikapul metro stations, which are just 1 km away.

One more best thing about the garden is, the NTR Garden’s party zone can be booked for parties on a rental basis. A refundable security deposit of Rs. 5000 and Rs. 21000 plus tax rent per day is to be paid. The timing for the private parties is from 2:30 PM till midnight.
