The Dinosaurium is the latest addition to the planetarium in the year 2000. It is a unique natural history gallery which displays a magnificent and rare fossil of the Kotasaurus, a dinosaur that belongs to the lower Jurassic age, nearly 160 million years ago. It measured about 14 meters in length and 5 meters in height. The fossils were found and collected from Adilabad district in Telangana and were mounted by Geological Survey of India. The Dinosaurium also has other rare collections – marine shells, fossils of dinosaur eggs and fossilized tree trunks.

Apart from entertaining its visitors, the planetarium even educates them in different ways. The cosmic presentation is considered on par with those in the US, Japan, Europe and Soviet Republics. The presentations highlight various mysteries of the universe which unfolded Halley’s comet by exploring the space of the Solar system, riddles of Blackholes, and also about the dark energy. Popular courses on Astronomy and Astrophysics are conducted by the planetarium. Students interactive sessions on special topics are also organized.

Coming to the most attractive feature of the planetarium is The Sky Show in the sky theatre. Every year the show has a different name, the first show in the year 1985 was based on the theme of the universe and named as Astounding Universe. The sky show is both informative and entertaining at the same time. The duration of the show lasts for about 35 minutes. Children under 4 years are not allowed in the sky theatre.
